Sanoh UK's on site team at the Nissan car plant in Sunderland have been congratulated on their approach to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. NMUK have introduced a number of plant wide initiatives including the 10 Health & Safety rules. These initiatives aim to illustrate where the plant wants to be against where it is now. All areas of the plant, including supplier on-site business units, are being audited in preparation for a major plant audit in March 2020. Sanoh UK were audited in January on their 5S in the facility and received a remarkable and very impressive score of 99.4% - a notable achievement for Unit Manager Joe Thompson and his team.

Joe said "We take our 5S very seriously and I am a great believer that a good solid 5S provides a sound foundation for quality and output. We are very proud of the achievement and appreciate the confidence put in us by the Nissan team."

Mervyn Rees Parts Control Manager Nissan Sunderland said "Nissan Sunderland (NMUK) recently reviewed several factors of its business performance which included specific focus on 5S and its importance to the 10 Safety Rules. This is the foundation of the ‘want to be’ in terms of Safety, Quality, Cost and Timely Delivery (SQCT). Having communicated our cultural standard and the need to challenge the acceptable condition, we undertook a series of random 5S verification audits. Everyone on site at Sunderland needed to be involved.

Congratulations to Sanoh UK and Joe Thompson and his team here at Sunderland who have fully embraced all aspects of 5S. Leading by example Joe and the team have made improvements to layout, cleanliness, hazard management and parts arrangements."
